Overview
Do you watch home shopping channels such as QVC and think that you have what it takes to be a model on the shows? You just might, as becoming a home shopping model is an attainable goal for a lot people. QVC looks for professional and aspiring models with a wide variety of looks who will appeal to a mass audience. The shopping network uses all types of models, from traditional to plus-size, to showcase the latest fashions, make-up and hair care.
Step 1
Get photos and headshots made. It would be helpful if you have a modeling portfolio or professional headshots to send in to the show, but if you don't, ask a friend to take a few pictures for you. Include a pose of yourself modeling a type of product that could be featured on QVC.
Step 2
Make a video. As a QVC model, you will be appearing on live television, and producers will want to see your level of comfort in front of the camera. Try out several looks to highlight your versatility as a model. Move around and pose in the video to show that you are comfortable being filmed.
Step 3
Send your pictures and videos to the QVC offices at 1200 Wilson Drive, West Chester, PA 19380. Address your package to the attention of "On-Air Model Submission."
Step 4
Take modeling classes. Joining a professional class will help you hone your modeling skills and build your confidence in front of the camera. If you are accepted as a QVC model, you will have a better understanding of the industry and what the job entails.
Step 5
Follow-up on your submission. If you haven't heard back from QVC after sending in your modeling materials, contact the appropriate department to see if you are being considered for a position. It may take a bit of work to find the correct studio contact, but it will help you stand out from other candidates.
