Overview
The title of Super Model is reserved for a rare few who rise to a level of international fame. These Super Models are known by name as well as by face. To become a Super Model you must possess exceptional looks, a devoted work ethic and be discovered by major players in the modeling industry. It is not enough to have just one thing working for you. Super Models are genetically blessed, work hard and are lucky.
Step 1
Be tall. Super Models must be at least five feet nine inches tall in their bare feet. This is the minimum height for female models on a catwalk. You will not be considered as a Super Model if you are shorter than this because you will not fit the clothes major designers use in their fashion shows. You will also look out of place next to the other Super Models.
Step 2
Be thin. Super Models are not only tall, they are also very lean. Most are a size 4 or smaller with a bust to waist to hip ratio of 3:2:3. For example, if bust and hips are 34 inches, the waist should be 22 inches.
Step 3
Be stunning. Super Models tend to be striking, but not always classically beautiful. Lighting and makeup can do a lot to make an otherwise ordinary looking teenager into a glamorous Super Model. Many become famous because they have an unusual facial feature. This can be strangely spaced eyes, a gap in their teeth or a mole. If a Super Model can make you stop and take a second look, they have an advantage over other models.
Step 4
Get discovered. Some Super Models are found by modeling agents while walking down the street. However, this is the exception. Most Super Models enter modeling contests or submit their photos to modeling agencies. A young woman who possesses the raw talent to be a Super Model will be rushed through the process. Only apply to the top modeling agencies like Ford, Elite and IMG. They know a Super Model when they see one.
Step 5
Be devoted. Super Models must be willing to devote their life to modeling for several years. Most are young women in their teens who must leave home to live in New York, Los Angeles, London or Paris to model. This requires sacrifices with family, friends and school. Only young women willing to make these sacrifices make it as Super Models.
Step 6
Be professional. Despite what you may have heard about Super Model divas, the reality is that most Super Models are very pleasant to work with. Always be sure to show up on time with a good attitude. Do what is asked of you and don't make unreasonable demands. If you have an attitude problem, word will spread and you won't get work. You must always be in demand to be considered a Super Model.
