How Can I Become an Avon Model?

Overview

how can become avon model? : Overview : A woman modeling cosmetics.
Avon is a company that sells cosmetics world wide through representatives that sell door to door, as well as online. If you've ever been given an Avon catalog or visited one of the online Avon shops then you've probably seen photos of Avon models. Becoming an Avon model is challenging but not impossible. As with any modeling job, you have to jump through a number of hoops before you can become an Avon model, and doing so does not guarantee that you will become one. Despite this, if you follow the steps outlined below carefully, you will have a much better chance than someone who does not take the time to prepare.

Step 1

Take some modeling classes. Most young men and women who are serious about becoming professional models whether for Avon or anyone else, take the time to take some classes and really learn how to walk, dress, do their make-up, and pose. This is important if you want to be taken seriously by any modeling agent or agency, not to mention any future clients.

Step 2

Find a professional photographer that has the same vision as you do for your head shots before having any photos taken. Ultimately, these head shots will become the basis for your portfolio, and can make or break your modeling career. That is why it is so important to work with a photographer who you can work with. If you and your photographer cannot agree on how the shots should be taken, then you need to consider finding another photographer because ultimately any head shots taken that do not match your vision are not going to show you at your best.

Step 3

Contact Avon's marketing/advertising department and find out which modeling agencies they contract with for models. Hopefully, there will be an office in your town and you can apply to have them represent you. You also have the option of trying to find a single agent but your chances of being selected as an Avon model may go down because Avon tends to work with modeling agencies, rather than single agents.

Step 4

Add more to your portfolio. If the agency that Avon uses accepts you, then of course tell them of your interest in becoming an Avon model, but while you are waiting express your willingness to take other modeling gigs. This can only help you by adding to your portfolio so that when Avon is looking for models again and comes calling, or your agency promotes you to them, you and your agency will have more to show them.

Step 5

Attend any and all casting calls that Avon puts out. While it is not a guarantee that you will get a job as an Avon model, showing up and applying will go that much more towards your final goal of becoming an Avon model. Even if you don't make it the first time around, there will always be another casting call and in the meantime you can gain further experience.

TIPS AND WARNINGS

  • TIP : If you have no modeling experience other than your modeling classes, consider working with the photographer who does your head shots to take some other shots of you so you have a little more to put in your portfolio. Even if the shots aren't ones that anyone else is going to use, it will give you a chance to put something else in your portfolio. Only work with agencies, agents, and photographers that share your vision of what you want your modeling career to be. Otherwise you could be working at cross purposes, and this could create stress and upset on all sides that is best avoided.
  • WARNING : Understand that modeling is hard work, and that you will not just be able to wake up one morning and decide you are going to be a model. You will need to be willing to put everything you have into it, including money, time, and energy to reach your goal.
