America's Next Top Model is a famous model search contest hosted by supermodel and talk show host Tyra Banks. Most of the contestants got their starts young and probably worked as teen models, gaining valuable experience and exposure. Since modeling agencies and television shows are always looking for the next great find, aspiring teen models might want to consider some of these jobs in order to get a foot in the door.

Family Magazines

Family magazines like Family Circle and Good Housekeeping do a lot of articles on family dynamics, which can sometimes include pictures of teenagers. They may need to include teenagers in various photo shoots, making use of dramatic poses for serious articles or action poses for vacation stories. Working with a family magazine could even keep you employed beyond your teen years.

Retail Store Inserts

Stores like Target, Wal-Mart and K-Mart sell clothes to almost every demographic. Some of their stores are regionally oriented, sending advertisements out to local homes and newspapers. Coastal towns would probably need teen models to show off beachware, while teenagers would definitely be a target market for winter wear in places like the Dakotas and Colorado.

Product Modeling

Malls are often filled with concessionaires and kiosks in the foot traffic areas. These mini-stores tend to sell innovative services and products that are sometimes targeted towards beauty care. Teenage models could find employment demonstrating hair products, skin care products and custom-designed jewelry.

Local Fashion Shows

Local fashion designers in smaller cities and towns may design their clothes to appeal to teenagers. It wouldn't be uncommon for them to seek out teenage models from within the area to demonstrate how their wares are affordable and fashionable for the everyday crowd.

Teen Music Videos

Groups like the Jonas Brothers appeal to a younger audience, and many youth-oriented bands could use younger models to play various roles in their music videos, such as autograph-seekers, significant others or extras. This could be a teen model's start to pursuing a career in entertainment.
